Endeavoring to become a Wi-Fi Zone institution, Ramon Magsaysay Technological University entered into a partnership with Smart Communications Inc. as part of the #Internetforall program of the Duterte administration to provide fast free internet access for the faculty and students of the university.
University Management Information System (UMISO) officially announced that Ramonians may avail the free Wi-Fi connectivity as of Dec. 15 while informing the students and faculty to utilize and make good use of the 30-minute free Wi-Fi so that it will not be wasted.
According to UMISO Head Engr. Ricky S, Barrera, RMTU is the first in the province to offer free Wi-Fi which could support more than 5,000 students and faculty of Iba campus.
Engr. Barrera also specified that prior to the 30-minute limit, the allowable period of connection is originally 15 minutes.
He also clarified that the user can browse any website without restrictions but still subjected to the policies of the university in accessing inappropriate contents from the web.
Access Points were located at RMTU Administration Building, RMTU Gymnasium, College of Communication and Information Technology (CCIT), College of Accountancy and Business Administration (CABA) and College of Teachers Education (CTE) for better connectivity around the campus.
